In 1896 Utah became the 45th state to join the United States of America.
The state is named after the first inhabitants of the state, the Uintah, Ouray and the Utes. The area of the state is 220,000 km2 and it has 2.5 million inhabitants. In the north Utah borders on Idaho and Wyoming to Utah, Nevada in the west, in the east to Colorado and Arizona in the south.
The landscape of Utah is very special. Many national parks are located in this part of the United States of America. Middle and eastern Utah are dominated by the Rocky Mountains and the west by the Great Salt Lake. On these salt flats many speed records were broken.

In Utah we have visited almost all National Parks. We have visited Bryce Canyon National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Arches National Park and Zion National Park. We didn't visit Canyon Lands because we had too little time. During our RV road trip we drove through Dixi National Forrest which was incredibly beautiful at that time because of the fall colors.

In the menu on the left you'll find the travlogues of the different National Parks in Utah we visited.
