One of the most popular hikes in Yosemite is undoubtedly the Mist Trail. A hike to the Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall. The walk begins in the Yosemite Valley at shuttle stop 16. From here we walk on a paved path toward the Vernal Falls. On the Vernal Fall bridge you have a beautiful view of the Yosemite valley, there is water available and the last restroom. From this bridge the trail is not paved and is just a footpath.
Slowly we approach Vernal Fall. In the fall there is still water coming down, but in spring it is many times more than in October. From the view point along the path we go up stairs to the top of the Vernall Fall. From the top we walk along the Emerald Pool to the Silver Apron Bridge. From here we walk through the woods to the viewpoint of the Nevada Fall. We don't find it necessary to walk further to the top of Nevada Fall, and we continue to quietly enjoy the view. From the Nevada Fall we walk back to the beginning of the trail and take the shuttle back to the campground.
For people who want to walk a circular hike. When you reach top of Nevada Fall, the John Muir Trail to Clark Point begins. This trail brings you back to the Vernal Fall Bridge.
