The Lötschental is one of the last valleys that was disclosed in Wallis. Before 1906 the valley could only be reached by horse and carriage or by walking. Once there and at the end there is a nice walk. This is the last walk we did this holiday.

The Anenhütte has recently been destroyed by an avalanche and will probably not be rebuilt. This is no reason however not to undertake a hike in this area. The surroundings and the view across the Lötschental are worth the effort.
