Our next destination in South Africa is Oudtshoorn. We leave the beautiful coastline of Tsitsikamma National Park and drive along the N2 to George. Here we turn towards the N 12 to the Outeniqua Pass to ride towards Oudtshoorn. In the pass we notice that all parking spaces on the right side of the road and we are not allowed to turn right. We are both disappointed and when we are over the pass, we turn back. We drive the pass over again and stop at the viewpoints. Here we have a nice view over the Outeniqua Pass. At the last parking lot we turn right illegal and drive the pass back into the direction of Oudtshoorn.

Then we drive to the town of Oudtshoorn. Oudtshoorn is a village at the beginning of the R 62, the Garden Route. The town has many historic buildings. And because Oudtshoorn is at the beginning of the garden route, there is much tourist activity. The area surrounding Oudtshoorn has many ostrich farms. Our accommodation was a meadow full of ostriches, so we have not been to an ostrich farm. From Oudtshoorn you have beautiful views of the Swartberg mountain range, which follows a long way along the garden route.

We visit the Cango Caves. These are located about 30 km north of Oudtshoorn. Look in the left menu to travel to see the caves.
