France is one of the most popular holiday destinations for residents of the UK. France knows several popular regions, for example the French Riviera (Côte d'Azur), the French Alps, the Vosges and the Midi-Pyrénées. Besides those Parijs is a popular destination for a romatic getaway.

France is the second largest country in Europe and has about 65 million inhabitants. The official language of France in french. France knows a rich history with the occupation by the Romans, the French Revolution in 1789, World War 1 and World War 2. The rich history can be seen all over France. Besides this, several natonal holidays remind you of the history of France. For example July the 14th (the Storming of the Bastille 1789) and the 8th of May (Victory in Europe Day 1945).

From the UK France can be reached through the Channel Tunnel, taking you from Folkestone near Dover to Coquelles near Calais. The Toll roads are important North-South connections in France which are familiar to many people in the UK. The Route du Soleil is the busiest North-South connection which links Paris to Marseille. France knows several Black Saturdays, which garantee severe traffic jams towards the sunny south of France.
