La Gomera is an island which is part of the Canary Islands. It is about 20 km long and 20 km wide. La Gomera has 5000 touristbeds and is not very touristical. Most of the tourists are Germans and English. Sometimes a lost Dutchman. La Gomera has the largest Laurisilva forrest of the Canary Islands. The highest pint is at 1500 meters above sealevel. La Gomera is known as a beautifull, quiet walking island. And believe me, it is. During our walking trips there we didn't encounter more than 20 other hikers. The rest were people on daytrips from Tenerife visiting La Gomera. I'd just like to advice the people wanting to visit the island to do so in april/mai. The nature is even more beautiful then.
After a plaintrip of 5 hours, waiting for 4 hours on the boat and 2 more hours of traveling we finally arrive in Hermigua. But our patience was rewarded. The casita was big and placed in the middle of banana fields.
For our meeting with the hostess of our travelagency we had to drive to the other side of the island. During this trip we could already view the island fairly well and decided where to visit.
