During our vacation we were able to see all of Grand Canary. From Fataga we have driven to the north as well as the south. The roads on Grand Canary are good and on the coast there is even a bit of highway. Although the highway network on Gran Canary is being extended, we recommend renting a car. The mountain roads can be driven safely as well. We encountered only one section where the road was fairly narrow and a bit exciting.

Besides the famous beach resorts concrete appartment complexes there are a lot of casita's, or holiday homes, in the inland of Grand Canary. These are perfect accommodations for a relaxing vacation in the nature of Grand Canary.
Gran Canaria has a lot to offer, it's almost a shame to stay on the beach. Although for a day...
