During our round trip through Canada we would like to take a walk in Yoho National Park in British Columbia in Canada. Because we do not really have much time we drive to Emerald Lake. There are a number of trails in Yoho National Park, but we choose a nice short walk around Emerald Lake. The walk to Emerald Lakes has been written in the books as one of the most beautiful hikes in Yoho National Park in Canada.

We park our car in the parking lot at Emerald Lake. We get our backpacks and started to walk along the shore of Emerald Lake. A large part of the walk on a paved road but at the end of the lake becomes a dirt path and a trail. During the walks we have magnificent views of the mountains surrounding Emerald Lake. The Emerald Peak, the Wapta Mountain and Mount Burgess are all visible during the walk.

After the furthest point of the walk around Emerald Lake, we walk on the west side of the lake. Here we walk back through the beautiful forests of Canada. The lovely forest path makes the walk really great fun. After a good five kilometers an hour we are back at the parking lot. On the bridge, we stare into the clear blue water before we drive to our B & B in Canmore.

Length: 5 km
Height difference: none
