Yoho National Park is located east of Banff National Park in British Columbia in Canada. During our trip through Canada Yoho National Park is one of the last National Parks of Canada that we visit. We drive along the Icefields Parkway between Jasper and Banff and turn on to Highway 1 in the direction towards Field in Yoho National Park. After a long day of driving we have time for a nice short walk to Emerald Lake. A day later we visit the Takakkaw Falls in Yoho National Park from our B&B in Canmore.

During our visit we drive on a very nice road to Takakkaw Falls. This road is not suitable for motorhomes. There are in the middle part of the road very sharp, steep and narrow hairpin bends that even with our normal car a challenge. But after half an hour we arrived at the parking lot of the Takakkaw Falls in Yoho National Park. We park our car and walk the last part to the Takakkaw Falls waterfalls. The Takakkaw Falls is one of the highest waterfalls (about 300 m) in Canada and in the evening light it is breathtaking. There are few tourists in the evening so we take the time to have a great look at the Takakkaw Falls. In the evening we drive back to our B & B in Canmore.

Yoho National Park is located on the border of Alberta and British Columbia about 200 km away from Calgary. In the Yoho National Park in Canada are several hiking trails available. At the visitor center is information available about the conditions and bear activity.
