The walk, the farthest distant from our B & B in Ucluelet, is the walk to Skooner Grove in Pacific Rim National Park on Vancouver Island. We park our car and begin the short hike to the beach. This cute little hike starts right in the rainforest which we have seen before in the Pacific Rim National Park. We walk the desk path, over bridges and via steps through a beautiful small valley. Of course we have to climb up the stairs on the other side of the valley. We walk along ferns, lots of different mushrooms and past the enormous tall trees to the beach. The last part we descend via stairs and before we know it we are standing at a wonderful beach.

The storm creates beautiful waves and threatening weather at the horizon creates wonderful views. We see a group of little beachcombers racing on the beach looking for food. The threatening weather comes towards the beach and under a tree we take refuge from the rain with a wonderful view of the sea. After a small walk on the beach, we walk back through the Skooner Grove, through the forest back to the car and drive back to Ucluelet.

This short walk through Skooner Grove is a perfect example of Pacific Rim National Park on Vancouver Island. During the walk to the beach you walk through the beautiful rainforest. If you have limited time in Pacific Rim National Park, this is a good walk to get an impression of the Pacific Rim National Park.
