On Mount Revelstoke in Mount Revelstoke National Park we like to hike to Eva and Miller Lake. We ask at our B & B if we can have an early breakfast and drive early to the gate Mount Revelstoke National Park. However, we are too early because the gate opens at 9 am. After half an hour of waiting we finally are allowed to drive to the parking lot on top of the mountain.

We could wait a half hour for a shuttle, but we decide to hike about 1 kilometer to the beginning. We walk on the paved road about 100 meters up hill to the start of the walk to Eva and Miller Lake. On the top we are one of the few tourists who start early in the morning for a day hike. And soon we find the hiking trail to Eva and Miller Lake.

We descend on a well maintained trail down to the plains where we have a beautiful view over the beautiful mountains around Mount Revelstoke National Park. We walk over large scree, along cliffs and through beautiful forests. Along the way we see a beautiful little waterfall which originates from Miller Lake. After about 7 km up and down hiking, we arrive at Eva Lake. We are looking for a nice lunch spot and take their time to enjoy the truly stunning Eva Lake. Because we are so early, we are all alone at Eva Lake, which is great. After the break we hike the same track back and take a turn towards Miller Lake.

After a few hundred meters we descend to the Shore of Miller Lake. Miller Lake is also a beautiful mountain lake. We see the trail on the scree to Jade Lake. During the hike we decided not go Jade Lake, given that it is 300 meter downhill and 300 meter uphill again. On the Shore of Miller Lake we take a short break before we hike back to the parking lot of Mount Revelstoke National Park. We take the same beautiful hiking trail back as the way to Eva and Miller Lake. After a long day we arrive back at the beginning of the trail. Again, we do not want to wait for the shuttle bus and walk through the forest back to the parking lot.

The walk to Eva and Miller Lake is truly magnificent. Nature is beautiful with the occasional incredible beautiful views. The trail is well maintained but goes up and down. Along the way are no catering facilities, so bring plenty of food and drinks yourself. Also in Mount Revelstoke National Park bears live, so make noise while hiking. Ask at the Information Centre in Revelstoke or at the entrance of the park about bear activity in the area. But for those who love walking through very beautiful nature Eva and Miller Lake in Mount Revelstoke National Park is highly recommended.
