Today we drive from Seward to Homer. Not the most exciting stretch to drive. We have spells of bad weather and there aren't many special places to look at along the way. A large section of the drive goes along the coast, but just far enough from it to actually see it. We drive around the raging forest fire (June 2007). We see a lot of fire trucks and smoke in the distance. Every now and then the air is brownish and we smell a burning smell. Just before Homer we stop at a large parking area before we drive to our B&B. At the end of the afternoon the weather isn't helping much and we decide to head to the spit. There we see a lot of Bald Eagles, but it's raining cats and dogs and not much is happening on the spit. We drive back to our B&B and start thinking about what we want to do tomorrow.
