Today we head north, to Chatanika. We're on the way to the FE Goldcamp, our next B&B. During the drive we pass Nenana, where we have lunch and have a stroll through the village. In Fairbanks we're having some problems with the rain. We decide to drive into Fairbanks and have a look at the University museum, but it's closing fairly soon so we continue on towards Chatanika. Along the way we stop at a pipeline viewing point. Whilst driving we notice the entire valley has been plowed over by gold diggers. Everywhere you look you see piles of gravel.
The FE Goldcamp is a gold-digger's village as well. At night we have a conversation with the owners about the Goldcamp. The just took over the place and are busy starting up their business. But despite just starting they have big plans and the location offers enough possibilities to make it a very nice B&B.
